Denim Harris touched lives with his unwavering faith, selfless spirit, and passion for the game he loved. His legacy lives on through every life he inspired.

He wasn't just a teammate—he was a brother. The kind of person who made everyone around him better, on and off the field.

In Honor of Denim

A life shaped by baseball, faith, and purpose.

Denim began playing baseball at just three years old. A left-handed batter throughout his career—a rarity in the game—his disciplined and strategic swing gave him a natural competitive edge and consistently challenged opposing pitchers. From the very beginning, baseball was more than a sport to Denim; it was a way of life.

Throughout his baseball journey, Denim proudly wore jersey number four. Inspired by MLB player Brandon Phillips and grounded in his faith, the number ultimately pointed him to Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” For Denim, #4 symbolized strength, perseverance, belief, and purpose—values he carried both on and off the field.

Vivacious, energetic, and deeply supportive, Denim was the kind of teammate and friend who showed up for everyone. He celebrated milestones, attended events, and supported not only his teammates but their families as well.

Guided by faith and strong values, he lived with discipline, humility, loyalty, and love. His spirit and the impact he made on those around him continue to live on.

Naturally competitive, Denim set clear goals and worked relentlessly to achieve them. He truly ate, slept, and breathed baseball, constantly striving to improve and lead by example. He played with heart, grit, and determination, never letting an opportunity pass him by. He also cherished annual traditions, including attending Texas Rangers Opening Day games with his dad and visiting a different MLB stadium each year—experiences that fueled his lifelong love for the game.

At just eight years old, Denim helped lead his team to a World Series championship, sealing the victory with the team’s final hit and run. That same year, he hit his first home run—an early glimpse of what was to come. Beginning as a second baseman and shortstop, he earned multiple “Most Outs of the Season” awards and became affectionately known as DMoney for his clutch plays, stops, and hits.

Denim began playing varsity baseball as an incoming freshman and contributed at the JV level when needed, quickly establishing himself as a standout athlete. As his game evolved, he transitioned to center field, where his speed, awareness, and consistency set him apart. Known for making critical outs—tracking down pop flies, cutting off hard base hits, and robbing near home runs—nothing passed his way. He was also recognized as an elite bunt hitter, using speed, precision, and exceptional baseball IQ to apply constant pressure on the defense.

Shortly before his passing, Denim was selected as one of only three student-athletes out of eighty to showcase his talent for MLB organizations, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Cleveland Guardians—clear evidence of the path he was on. In August 2025, he committed to Seminole State College in Oklahoma, a top JUCO Division I program, earning a starting role as center fielder.
His goals included transferring to Oklahoma State University or entering the MLB Draft early. During his career, he recorded five home runs, including three grand slams, leaving a lasting impression in a short time.

Throughout his baseball career, Denim earned more than twenty medals, forty championship rings, ten MVP trophies, teacher award and numerous additional awards. More than the accolades, he left behind a legacy defined by faith, perseverance, leadership, and love—a legacy that continues to inspire all who knew him and all who will come to know his story.

Faith & Family

Denim’s faith and love for his family guided everything he did. Joshua 1:9, one of his favorite verses, reflected his courage, strength, and approach to life.

Leadership & Selflessness

He never sought the spotlight, yet everyone naturally looked to him. Denim led not with words, but with actions—always putting his team before himself, celebrating others' victories as his own.

Discipline & Perseverance

Through setbacks and triumphs alike, Denim's work ethic never wavered. He understood that greatness isn't born—it's built through dedication, sacrifice, and an unwillingness to quit.

Humility & Kindness

Despite his talents, Denim remained grounded. He treated everyone—from the youngest fan to his toughest competitor—with the same warmth and respect. His kindness knew no bounds.
